After 7 years it is time to finish my studies at UdK Berlin! It has been quite a journey, and I feel very emotional about this recital, which supposed to be just an exam as many other ones... But it is impossible for me to look at it that way! I would love to see some friends in the audience and make this evening special. Here is the program:
Péter Eötvös: Two poems to Polly for a speaking cellist
Franz Schubert: "Arpeggione Sonata"
- intermission -
Ludwig van Beethoven: Sonata No. 4 in C-major Op. 102/1
Benjamin Britten: Sonata in C Op. 65
At the piano the heroine of our class, Naoko Sonoda.
I'm immensely grateful for my teacher, Jens Peter Maintz, for the past 14 semesters - he has been a constant source of motivation, inspiration, knowledge, humour, and most importantly he helped me through this complicated phase of becoming a young adult.
Last but not least I'm thankful for the coachings of Alfred Brendel, Péter Eötvös, and Rita Wagner - they had a huge influence on me generally, but also particularly on this program.
